Dexter, The Wire, and Lost: Excellent TV Programs

Most shows on TV are truly awful in modern times but the three TV programs I highlight in this article stand above other TV shows as three of the greatest TV shows of the millennium to this point.
The first show I want to talk about is <a href=”http://www.thenextnew.com/the-wire/90/”>The Wire</a> which was an excellent HBO show which lasted for five seasons from 2002 through 2008. Each season takes a look at the city of Baltimore, Maryland from a different perspective. It is a fantastic TV show not only as a show that pulls the viewer in (similar to the other two series in this article I I can recall watching 5 or 6 episodes in one day) but also as a show that makes really important points about the United States of America.
I don’t want to get into the specifics of those points are, because I think the show itself makes them much better than I can in an article like this one. But I will say that one of the things I really like about this remarkable show is how it blurs the line between the “good guys” and the “bad guys.” The Wire is realistic in portraying people as having positive and negative features rather than as either simply all good or all bad.
The next series is the only one of the these three that is still on the air and that is <a href=”http://www.thenextnew.com/dexter-season-3-on-dvd-blu-ray/154/”>Dexter which stars Michael C. Hall.</a> This is a series that I didn’t think I would enjoy when I first heard about it so it did take some time before I finally watched it. I am glad that I did. It’s ended up among my all time favorite shows. Yes, it’s definitely twisted (the main character is a serial killer after all) but it’s twisted in a quite interesting way.
The final show I recommend as one of the best TV series of the 21st century is the one I have been most obsessed with recently and that is because it has only recently ended! You can now <a href=”http://www.musicbyday.com/lost-order-the-complete-series-dvd-blu-ray/823″>buy the complete series of Lost</a> and that’s definitely the way to do it since this is a series that must be viewed from start to finish without any skipping around.
What I really like about this mysterious show is that it’s “one huge story” where each episode is a part of the whole thing and leads into the next show. The key to really enjoying Lost is to watch it from the beginning and avoid all spoilers.

Lost: The Complete Series

<a href=”http://www.musicbyday.com/lost-order-the-complete-series-dvd-blu-ray/823/”>The Complete Series of Lost</a> has to be the boxset I’m most thrilled about since the <a href=”http://www.musicbyday.com/the-beatles-remastered-stereo-cd-box-set/492/”>Beatles Stereo Box Set</a> and the <a href=”http://www.musicbyday.com/the-beatles-mono-box-set/490/”>Beatles Mono Box Set</a> on September 9, 2009. Yes, I have already seen every episode of Lost but there are some cool extras in the complete series box set. Plus, I’m thinking about on watching the whole series again, it’s really that good.
The DVD version of the complete collection (it is also available as Blu-Ray discs) includes an entire disc of never before seen content. Just that alone makes it worth the purchase price to me. There’s no more regular episodes for me to see, but I still want to see more!
All told there are over 30 hours of extra features included in the box set along with all of the 121 original episodes. This means there’s a lot of new stuff in this box set even for someone like me!
There’s also some neat extras such as an exclusive episode guide, a Lost island replica, and a Senet game like the one seen in season 6 (don’t worry if you haven’t seen season 6 yet, that’s not a spoiler.) The box set even comes with a black light!
And if you’re fortunate enough to have not yet seen Lost then I have to tell you to not waste another minute in purchasing the complete collection of Lost. You are in for a true treat. Lost is definitely among the greatest television series ever. It takes you on a trip that’s full of surprising twists. I cannot possibly recommend it anymore highly. I am actually jealous of those who have not been on this adventure yet! Unfortunately for me, I can never see it for the first time again.
But whether you’ve never met Jack, Locke, Hurley, Sawyer, “Freckles”, Claire, Charlie, and the rest of them before or not ordering this complete collection boxset is a no brainer.

Lost: DVD Box Set

<a href=”http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5422088/lost_were_they_all_dead_the_whole_time.html”>Lost</a> is definitely right up there with Battlestar Galactica, The Wire, and Arrested Development as one of the very best TV programs of the 2010s! As someone who has already seen every single episode of all 6 seasons of Lost, I am still probably going to <a href=”http://www.weirdbiz.com/lost-the-complete-dvd-or-blu-ray-series/1010/”>buying the complete Lost collection on Blu-Ray</a> because this is one of those rare shows that will be very fun to watch a second time (and there is a lot of awesome extra features included with the complete series box set.)
If you are new to this mysterious show then I’m actually jealous of you to be able to experience it for the very 1st time still. It is really that good, I’m serious. it is the type of show that you are likely to remember for the rest of your life.
To get the most out of watching Lost for the first time you really want to <a href=”http://www.loveyoudeer.com/lost.html”>order the complete Lost collection box set</a> and then avoid all spoilers as much as you can. A great part of this series is having the “mysteries of the island” revealed slowly in incredibly unexpected ways. Do not ruin that for yourself by looking up spoilers about the show!
Also it’s important to watch it from beginning to end with every episode in order. This is a true “serial” where every episode leads into the next. It’s all “one story” rather than a show where each individual episode has it’s own start and finish.
I should warn you that Lost is very addictive and that if you like it anywhere near as much as I do that you may find yourself watching seven episodes in just one day (and yes I actually did this once!) It is one of those things where every episode really has you wanting to know what happens next.
I should also really say that this is a people who like to think about things. What’s going on will not always be overly obvious. If you are seeking outs predictable entertainment, you should look elsewhere. You will have to make use of your brain as you watch this mystery unfold.
